Many congrats to Geeks on the Way, the Canadian home and small office tech support service that was recently named the winner of the Stevie award for Sales and Customer Service.
The company is using SugarCRM along with many other open source components to better serve its customers, and also run a tighter ship internally.
Geeks on the Way are a great example of how companies can leverage open source applications like SugarCRM as a platform to do more for less, to create a competitive differentiation – and simply offer a great experience to their customers.
The real theme here is choice. While Geeks on the Way is a firm filled with ambitious, really tech-minded people, that is not always the case. So, while Sugar Community Edition works for them, others have great software options with strong functionality out of the box like Sugar Professional or Enterprise (let alone the option to host the software yourself, through a partner, or via Sugar On-Demand).
