Christopher Musico over on the destinationcrm.com blog brought up some nice points about making the most with what you have…thoughts that I think provide sound advice for any CRM initiative.
With everything I’m reading about Web 2.0, open source, cloud computing, etc., why shouldn’t businesses look to SaaS and cloud computing to cut costs rather than entirely upgrading or outright replacing new ones?
With more and more functionality being imbedded within Web 2.0 technologies, the ability to implement that small piece of functionality can go a long way on the end user’s desktop.
Rather than replacing an entire process or application, consider implementing key procedures and/or functionality via technology platforms, custom development or integrations. In short, cherry picking the most needed functionality rather than overhauling the entire engine.
